Thanks to Microsoft’s new Office iOS app, it’s surprisingly easy to view a PowerPoint presentation on your iPad.

Office iOS: The new Office iOS mobile app is the easiest way to open your PowerPoint on your iPad or iPhone. Simply click on the presentation from an email or Dropbox and then click open in Office.

You can download the app for free here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/microsoft-powerpoint/id586449534?mt=8

Keynote app: Importing a PowerPoint file to Keynote (the Apple version of PowerPoint) will bring in most of the animations, however some of the more complex animations won’t display. However, Keynote carries the benefit of allowing you to edit your slides on your iPad.

You can download the Keynote app for £6.99 here: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/keynote/id361285480?mt=8

Save as a video: If you’re using PowerPoint 2007 or later, you can save the file out as video. This automatically goes to wmv (windows media video format), which cannot be played on an iPad, because the video is a windows based file, however, if you upload the video to YouTube or vimeo it will happily play on an iPad if you have an internet connection.
